Drafted Masterclass 3: Adaptations: Deborah Moggach in discussion with Briony Hanson

Deborah Moggach is a celebrated writer who has adapted many of her own novels for film and television, including The Stand In and more recently Final Demand and These Foolish Things.  She has also successfully adapted the work of other writers including Nancy Mitford's Love In a Cold Climate for the BBC, Anne Fine's Goggle-eyes for which she won a Writers Guild Award and a BAFTA nominated adaptation of Pride and Prejudice as a film with Keira Knightley.

In discussion with Briony Hanson from The Script Factory and with clips and examples from Pride and Prejudice amongst others, Deborah will provide an insight into how to identify and shape the cinematic elements within a novel, drawing out the inner world of the characters, remaining faithful to the original work and facing the daunting challenge of adapting a 500 page classic voted the UK's second best-loved book.

This event is for screenwriters based in the North West of England. Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

Parking for the event is limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis. We suggest you either come by tram (nearest stop Broadway on Eccles Line), or park in the  Lowry Centre car park.
